Wake the Witch Within

Reclaiming the word Witch helped me reclaim a huge part of myself. A part I was avoiding and wanted to pretend did not exist. And to be honest, I was afraid of what others would think. 

Witch means a lot to a lot of people. And there are so many negative stereotypes around this word and what it means. Think witches eating kids, cursing people and worshipping evil. 

This is not Witch.

Witch is beautiful. 

Witch is light magic. 

Witch is going deep into who you are. Walking in your shadows and know you are safe. 

Witch is connecting with yourself on an entirely different level. 

Witch is intuitive, deep knowing and a powerful connection to the Universe. 

Witch is embracing your innate power. 

Witch is loving all parts of yourself because Witch knows there are wounds.

Deep, painful, scary wounds. Trauma in our very cells from when women were burned alive, drowned, simply because they were intuitive, medicine women, midwives, or looked at someone the “wrong” way. 

Women were pitted against each other, literally competing to live. 

And now, as we unravel. We turn competition into healing community. 

We stop comparing and we focus on self-love. 

It feels a little more safe to become public as a Witch. 

Reclaiming and embracing all of who I am. All of who we are. 

We are born with gifts that are smothered in childhood. 

Society says we have to be perfect, little nice girls. This means we remain small. We do not share our opinion - for fear it won’t be nice. 

We stay stuck in the patriarchy that harms every human. Binding us to a dark history where it was unsafe to be our truest selves. Our Witch selves. Our intuitive, healer selves. The time when we knew just how powerful of creators we are. 

Witch was a scary word for me to reclaim. I fought it. I truly did. 

And the Universe kept guiding me there. Kept showing me the way. Kept helping me get to where I needed to go. 

Guiding me to RECLAIM. 

All of who I am.

A reclaim of myself as Witch. 

Reclaiming my power and my gifts has connected me more with myself, my guides, my intuition, nature. 

I am still figuring out what it all means. 

I am still learning history. 

And ways I enjoy celebrating the sabbats. 

I am still learning about the different types of witch and feeling which way I am being called. 

I am not a new witch for I have always been - but I have just reawakened. 

And have fully immersed myself - ready to see what comes next.
